Liptauer Cheese

A Hungarian Cheese Spread

Yield: 10 ounces

8 ounces of cream cheese softened
1/4 cup red onion chopped very fine
2 tablespoons of softened butter
2 teaspoons of hungarian sweet paprika
2 teaspoons chopped capers
1 teaspoon caraway seeds
2 anchovy fillets, rinsed (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt (if you omit the anchovy fillets)

In a small bowl cream together cream cheese, butter, paprika, and anchovy fillet. Stir until the mixture is uniform. Add chopped capers, caraway seeds, and salt. This is better if you refrigerate for 4 hours or more before serving.
