I bought some hormel pork breast fillets on special, but first attempt at cooking was awful. Any suggestions on how to cook?
One way:
I season with salt and pepper, dredge in flour, dip in beaten egg, and then coat with panko and pan fry.
No matter how you cook it, you MUST season generously with garlic, garlic powder, crushed garlic etc. To me pork demands garlic. It’ll make any concoction very tasty.
Try adding coriander - I learned this living in Denver from a radio food show and tried it and it gives pork such a unique flavor - I never make pork without it. Good luck.
Why not take a cooking class to overcome your fear of cooking?
Its not the toughest to cook. You can cook it with using garlic paste, some chopped onions,tomatoes and little quantity of coriander. Then you can also add eggs and than fry it and after it has been cooked just serve it.
Gosh, hate to admit it, but up until now, I’d never heard of pork breast fillet.
Even just tried googling it, got nowhere.
Did an image search, and got this;
Is this what we are talking about ?
Does pork breast fillet go by another cut name ? The picture looks like pork belly to me. Is it really this fatty ?
When you say “first attempt at cooking was awful” did you mean dry and flavorless? Perhaps this may help. Regards.
