Macaroni and Cheese with Tomatoes

This is sooooo good!!!

2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
1 (14 oz) can whole tomatoes, undrained
2/3 cup water
1 (8 oz) pkg cheddar cheese, cubed
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2-3 Tbsp sugar
1 (6 oz) pkg cheddar cheese slices (about 8 slices)

Cook macaroni according to package directions; Drain.

Place tomatoes in a 2 qt casserole; mash. Stir in macaroni, water, and next 4 ingredients. Arrange cheese slices on top. Cover and bake at 375 degrees for 30 min. or until bubbly.
