Mexi-Taco Sandwiches

My family likes the filling in these sandwiches (sans the corn chips) better for tacos and burritos than hamburger and taco seasoning packets. So good! These sandwiches are very good, too!

1 lb. ground beef
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/2 c. corn chips (crushed)
12 hamburger buns (split and toasted)
3 c. lettuce (shredded)
3 tomatoes (diced)
3/4 c. cheddar cheese (shredded)
Cook the beef and onion until meat is browned and onion is tender. Add tomato sauce, worcestershire sauce, salt, chili powder and garlic powder. Mix well and simmer 10 minutes. Fold in crushed corn chips. Immediately spoon mixture onto toasted buns. Pass taco sauce. Makes 12 servings.

Note: instead of browning the beef and onions in a skillet and adding the rest of the ingredients, I brown and beef and onion in an older tupperware steamer basket in the microwave, then put in in a glass dish and add ingredients, mix, and microwave for 5 minutes.
