Many years ago an elderly family member gave me a special family recipe. The family member has since passed away and I have since lost the recipe in a move…along with 3 boxes of cookbooks! Since I have promised to make the dish next week for the holidays, I am hoping someone has a similar recipe. I remember that the instructions specifically stated that it MUST be cooked in a cast iron skillet (duh!) and some of the ingredients I remember are sausage, bacon, shredded cheese, cream corn, and chopped onion to name a few. I know that sounds very unhealthy but it was fabulous. Does anyone have a similar recipe? I need a cornbread recipe not a stuffing recipe. Any Southern cooks out there that might be able to rescue me?
