If you have time, this is best if made partially and chilled, to allow
defatting and flavor melding.


2 lb. lean ground beef
1 T. dehydrated minced onion
1/2 C… white rice
1/2 C. cracker crumbs
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Mix and shape into meatballs. Place in 3-quart casserole.

1 can condensed tomato soup
1 can water
1 T. paprika

Mix and pour over meatballs. Cover. Bake 45 minutes at 375°F.
This is the point at which the casserole can be chilled and defatted.

1 cabbage, cut in narrow wedges
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
2 T. brown sugar
2 T. vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt

Arrange cabbage over meatballs. Mix and pour rest of ingredients
over cabbage. Cover. Bake at 375°F one hour or longer, basting
once or twice.
