My Version of Sheperds Pie

SHEPERDS PIE

2 LBS HAMBURGER MEAT
SMALL ONION DICED
SALT & PEPPER FOR SEASONING
1 10oz. CAN ROTEL ORIGINAL DICED TOMATOES
1 SMALL CAN OF TOMATO SAUCE
MASHED or CREAMED POTATOES
1 BAG of SHREDDED OR 1 BLOCKof VELVETTA CHEESE or BOTH

BROWN HAMBURGER MEAT WITH ONIONS, SALT & PEPPER, DRAIN. ADD & MIX ROTEL AND TOMATO SAUCE TO MEAT. POUR IN SMALL CASSEROLE DISH OR 9 x 12 CAKE PAN. COOK MASHED OR CREAMED POTATOES. (YOU CAN USE INSTANT IF IN A HURRY BUT HOMEMADE TASTE BEST) POUR OVER TOP OF HAMBURGER MEAT IN AN EVEN LAYER, TOP WITH CHEESE (AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE) AND PUT IN OVEN AT 350 UNTIL CHEESE MELTS.
SERVE WITH GREEN BEANS OR CORN ON THE COB

only make with horse meat :smiley:

1 lb of ground hamburger meat
1sm onion finely chopped
1/2t garlic powder
1 pkg pioneer country gravy
butter
1/2 log of lg velvetta cheese
instant potatoes

   I cook meat w/onion and garlic;crumbled type....drain grease...meanwhile cook instant potatoes per instructions on box....Enough like 8-10c cooked....make country gravy as per instructions...Take a lge baking dish and spray w/pam...Take 1/2 of mashed potato mixture and line the baking dish....Leaving it shallow on bottom and heavy  up on sides as if u were doing a pie crust....Add drained cooked meat mixture on the bottom....Pour the gravy over the meat..... Add remaining potato mixture...Cut thin slices of cheese and put on top....The more the cheesier...Preheat oven 2 350 degrees and bake uncovered til heated thru...make sure the cheese on top is melted and not burning on top.....watch carefully.....usually 20-30mins tops.....Great served alone or w/a salad and baked bread....My kids love it and still cook it after all these yrs...they r grown and gone.....Enjoy..... :D
