Neiman Marcus Million Dollar Pie
This recipe is one of Helen Corbett’s of Neiman-Marcus fame, original recipes.
3 egg whites
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pecans
20 crushed Ritz crackers (do not use Cheese Ritz)
1/2 pint. whipping cream
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Beat egg whites and add baking powder. Beat until partially stiff; add a cup
sugar and a teaspoon vanilla. Fold in pecans and crushed crackers.
Butter a 9 inch pie pan and pour in batter.
Bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 25 minutes. Cool completely.
Whip cream, adding sugar and vanilla. Spread on baked crust and decorate
with grated semi-sweet chocolate, coconut and chopped pecans.
Chill for 3 to 4 hours.
