Hi,
I am new here. Like to cook. Looking for some new recipes to try
also new on this site. very experienced cook, 66 yrs old. not sure if i am allowed to post my favorite shortcut but will try. i buy 5# chunks of cheap burger and put in large pot with water. bring to boil and boil for 45-60 mins. ladle into colander and rinse with hot water for 5-10 mins. let drain. when cool enuf to handle crumble into 5 ziplock bags. squish air out and seal then flatten. stack in freezer til u need to make tacos, hamburger helper, sloppy joes or anything u need precooked burger to prepare. this not only saves time, but saves money and is better for your health. you have turned cheap burger into ground round. getting rid of the fat content in this manner also lowers your cholesterol.
