Olive Garden Scallion

Please Please somebody can you help me, I need or should I correct that as say pretty please I’d like to see if someone can give me the recipe for the Olive "Garden’s recipe for Italian Scallions, It is an older recipe and they’ve discontinued to make it, but still won’t give the recipe, i’ve called with no success!!! They were delicious and served with a sauce I couldn’t quite recognize either. Secondly while visiting LA a lady gave me a quick and easy recipe for an apple cake it was on the idea of almost a pineapple upside down cake. It was simple, easy and a one dish cake, mixed all in the bowl with very few ingredients, flour, sugar, apples, a touch of cinnamon i believe and the rest i can’t recall, nor can I remember the amounts. If anyone can help, I’d be totally appreciative. Thank you and enjoy your weekend.

Like Italian Scalions

2 large onions, halved, thinly sliced
1 cup buttermilk

2 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon salt
2 teaspoons paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Vegetable oil (for frying)

PreparationSeparate onions into strips. Mix with buttermilk in large bowl. Cover with plastic and refrigerate 1 hour. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead. Keep refrigerated.)

Stir flour, salt, paprika, and cayenne pepper in another large bowl. Drain onions. Add to flour mixture and toss to coat. Pour oil into heavy saucepan to depth of 3 inches. Heat to 350°F; Working in small batches, shake excess flour off onions and cook in hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 2 minutes per batch. Using slotted spoon, transfer onions to paper towels and drain.

Transfer onions to platter. Season with salt and serve immediately.

Ok, that is what I found off the internet years ago. I use a ranch dip
I now live abroad, and I don’t have easy access to buttermilk. I just made them now, without waiting one hour… just with some milk and a bit of lemon juice. I but the onion in half, and then slices, put them in a container with lid, and added mild and bit of juice and shook them around to separate them. waited 5 minutes with occasional shaking, then drained the milk. I dumped them into the four mixter with a bigger container with lid and shook them around. then a dumped that into the wire frying basket over the sink so excess flour wouldn’t go into the fryer.
