Patti's 1880s Restaurant Sawdust Pie

Patti’s 1880’s Settlement is that special place where friends bring friends. It’s upscale family dining; famous for a 2" Pork Chop, Mile High Meringue Pies, Flower Pot Bread, and Strawberry Butter. Patti’s 1880’s Settlement is located in the small town of Grand Rivers, KY located at the northern entrance of Land Between the Lakes between Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake.
Filled with graham cracker crumbs, coconut and pecans with a mound of fresh whipped cream and sliced bananas, this pie is good for a decadent breakfast or delicious dessert!

7 egg whites, unbeaten
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 1/2 cups pecans
1 1/2 cups coconut
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell

Heat oven to 325 degrees F.

Mix all ingredients together and stir by hand. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake until glossy and set (about 25 to 30 minutes). Do not overbake! Serve warm with sliced bananas and whipped cream.

Serves 8.
