Hello I am new here and I have a question. I love watching the cooking shows on Food network, and many times I have seen them put plastic wrap over meat , then tin foil, I assume to keep moisture in, then place in the oven, but wont the plastic wrap melt? Or is it a special plastic?
I tried it one time after seeing it on the Food Network, as you did. It didn’t melt on the food, but it did around the edges of the pan. It wasn’t too difficult to clean off. But I didn’t see where it added much to the cooking or quality of the food. I don’t plan on using the technique again.
I would also use parchment instead of plastic wrap. I sped to much time on my food to mess something up and then have the plastic melt! lol
