Potato-Bacon Chowder

8 slices bacon, cooked crisp
1 large onion
4 cups cubed potatoes
2 cups water
2 (10 oz) cans cream of chicken soup
2 cups sour cream
1 3/4 cup milk
salt and pepper to taste

Sauté onions in bacon grease and drain fat. Add potatoes and water to a soup pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer about 20 minutes until potatoes are tender. Add soup, sour cream, milk, onion, salt and pepper. Cook until ingredients are blended and heated throughout. Crumble bacon into soup.
