PRETZEL SALAD

PRETZEL SALAD

2 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
3 tablespoons sugar
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
1 (12-ounce) carton non-dairy whipped topping
2 (3-ounce) packages strawberry gelatin
2 1/2 cups boiling water
2 (10-ounce) cartons frozen sliced strawberries in syrup

In a mixing bowl, combine crushed pretzels, butter and 3 tablespoons sugar. Press into a 9- x 13-inch glass baking dish that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely. Cream together the cream cheese and 1 cup sugar. Fold in whipped topping and spread mixture over cooled crust. In a bowl, combine gelatin, boiling water and frozen strawberries. Stir until gelatin dissolves and strawberries thaw. Refrigerate until mixture begins to congeal. Pour over cream cheese mixture. Chill until firm. Cut into squares to serve.
