Price of Ham's and Turkey's this Holiday season???

I am in Alabama and ham prices are unreal. The cheapest I found for ham was $1.69 and when I got to the store, it was not a well trimmed ham. They are usually on sale $0.99 - $1.29.

As for the turkey’s the price is $0.99 this year. Last year I paid $0.59.

Is it just me or did they double our holiday meat costs in one year???

We have to have both as some don’t eat turkey.

I heard them say on the news today that their was a shortage of turkeys this year due to the dry weather this summer, they said alot of turkeys have skinny breast this year due to being dehydrated. Our turkey prices in Tn. are running on sale a butterball about 98 cents a pound, storebrands are running about 69 to 79 centsa pound. Ham is about 1.18 to 1.28 on sale. All meat is probably higher and will be even higher this winter due to so many farmers corn crops not doing good and hay is hard to come by also.

Thought it was just my area. This is unusual though. I am hoping they will go on sale after Tksgvg. Maybe they will be stuck with em @ such a ridiculous price!
