3 tablespoons extra-vigin olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
3 tablespoons minced fresh basil
1/4 teaspoon sugar
- Cook the oil and garlic in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring often about 2 minutes. Stir in the crushed and diced tomatoes with their juice. Bring to a simmer and cook until slightly thickened, 15 to 20 minutes.
- Stir in the basil and sugar. Season with salt to taste.
