Receipe book

Hi everyone !

I thougth I already made this quiestion once before but I can’t find my prev. post or else I just never got it right the first time. Sorry if you think you have seen my question before.

In short I wish to make a family receipe book for myself and sons for Christmas and that has expanted to a few other family members now.
I did like to have the receipies stored in sheet protectors as to protect the recipies and secondly I did not want some huge big binder on the counter top (it is always too small anyway). So I found these half size sheet protectors on-line (see below) but the company keepfiling.com do not carry a matching binder. I know they excist so the question was if anyone else have seen these receipe mini binder somewhere ???

Thanks for a great site.

Hi!

This is how I’m doing my family heirloom cookbook.

Although, I’m using regular size pages (8-1/2 x 11) as I find that the recipe is less “crammed”. I use a two column format on the page, which allows me to type in 2 large recipes, or 3, or 4 small recipes. On some pages, I also have space to insert a picture, cartoon, or cooking tip.

As we did for school fundraising cookbook last year, I will use coil binding to put the cookbook together. There are many colors to choose from. Check out this site to get an example: http://www.bindingstuff.net/cobisu.html You can buy a pack of 25.

For the cover, you can use poly covers. They come in various colors too. They are water, coffee and smudge proof, giving your books a good looking cover as well as a protective covering. Check them out at

I find it much easier to find stuff for a full page because there are more materials to choose from. There’s not too much stuff for half pages.

Hope this helps.

Aline

Forgot to mention. As far as binding the books, I go to a company called “Mailbox Etc.”. They offer many service (laminating, photocopying, book binding, etc.). They have a binding machine. Perhaps you can check out your photocopy services stores in your area to see if they have the same.

I have a couple of binders that I purchased at Office Max that are three hole and are 8 X 9 inches. This may help you.
