Recipes Using Cereals & Pretzels....

Hey all,

I thought it would be quite interesting to see what interesting recipes we could find using cereals for ingredients in recipes.

Let’s see what we can come up with…here are a couple to get us going.

Rho

Bits N Bites

¼ Cup Margarine
1 Tsp Paprika
2 Cups Cheerio’s
2 Cups Shreddie’s
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
½ Tsp Onion Salt
2 Cups Thin Pretzel Sticks
1½ Cups Peanuts

Heat Oven To 275°f. 

Melt Butter, Blend With Seasonings. Pour Over The Rest Of The Ingredients. 

Mix In Large Roasting Pan. 

Stir And Bake 1 Hour; Stirring Every 15 Minutes With A Wooden Spoon. 

Cool & Store In Airtight Containers Or Ziploc Bags.

Original Chex Party Mix

6 Tbsp Butter Or Margarine
2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1½ Tsp Seasoning Salt
½ Tsp Garlic Powder*
½ Tsp Onion Powder*
3 Cups Each: Corn, Rice & Wheat Chex
1 Cup Mixed Nuts
1 Cup Pretzels
1 Cup Garlic Flavoured Bite-size Bagel Chips
Or Use Regular Size Broken Into 1- Inch Pieces If Bite-size Not Available)

Heat Oven To 250°f. 

Melt Butter In Large 9 X 13-inch Baking Pan In Oven.

Stir In Seasonings. Stir In Remaining Ingredients Making Sure To Coat Everything.

Bake 1 Hour Stirring Every 15 Minutes. Spread Over Paper Towels To Cool.

Store In Airtight Container.

Four Cheese Chex Mix

3 Cups Corn Chex
3 Cups Rice Chex
3 Cups Wheat Chex
4 Cups Cheese Flavoured Crackers
1 Bag Microwave Popcorn, Popped
3 Tbsp Melted Butter Or Margarine
1/3 Cup Parmesan Cheese
1 Pkg Four-cheese Pasta Sauce Mix

Mix Cereals, Crackers And Popcorn In Large (re-sealable) Container.

Drizzle With Melted Butter. Seal Bowl And Shake Until Well Coated.

Add Remaining Ingredients, Seal Bowl Again And Shake Well To Coat.

Nuts and Bolts

1 lb butter(no substitutes)
6 teaspoons garlic salt
6 tsp onion salt
3 tsp celery salt
2 tsp worcestshire sauce
8 cups cheerios
8 cups shreddies
4 cups mixed nuts
6 cups pretzels

melt butter and add spices…add cereal, nuts and pretzels…mix well and cook in a 250 oven for 2 hours stirring every half hour

Recipe Name: HIDDEN VALLEY PRETZELS
Category: SNACK
Serves: 6

1 envelo of hidden valley original dressing
16 hard pretzels
3/4 cups oil
1Tlbsp dill weed ( fresh is best but dried works well )
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. onion salt.

Mix oil,garlic salt,onion salt,hidden vally dressing. mix in a bowl and cover
pretzels. Bake for 15 to 25 min. at 250 stirring several times.

NOTE: on occasion I add some cayene or red pepper flakes if it will not be eaten by kids or those who can not take the heat.
