This is time consuming, but well worth it !!

Filling
1 lb. ground pork ;4 c. shredded cabbage; 1/4 c. water ;
1 small onion ;1 tsp. salt ;1/8 tsp. black pepper ; 2 tsp. 1/2 tsp. caraway seed

dough

2 pks. dry yeast; 3/4 c. warm water; 1 1/4 c buttermilk; 1/4 c. shortening;
2 tab. sugar; 2tsp. baking powder ; 2 tsp. salt; 4 1/2 -5 c. flour

Dough:
Dissolve yeast in water.Add rest of ingredients EXCEPT only 2 1/2 c. flour. Blend well. Add enough more flour to dough to make it easy to handle.Turn out on to floured work surface.Knead 5 min., working in rest of flour.
Let rest.

Brown and drain meat. add remaining ingredients. Bring to boil, lower heat and simmer 10-15 min. or untill cabbage is tender.

Roll out dough and cut into circles with biscut cutter or floured inverted glass.

Place 1 heaping tbs of meat mixture into center of dough circle. Top with 2’nd dough circle. Pinch edges closed.
Pepeat with remaining.
Cover and let rise till doubled (about 1 hour)
Bake at 375 degrees for 18 min.
