Another wonderful dessert from Ruth’s! This is an older dessert which may no longer be available on their menu - (the recipe is from an old newspaper clipping) - but you can still enjoy this at home. Easy to make - and so creamy and delicious!
Crust
1 2/3 cups crushed oreo cookies
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
Filling
20 oz. (2 1/2 8-oz. pkgs) cream cheese (softened)
1 cup sugar
1/2 tbs vanilla
1/4 cup cocoa
1 16-oz. carton whipped topping
Topping
oreo cookie crumbs
Mix oreo crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup melted butter. Pack into a 9x13 dish.
In largest bowl of mixer, beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla thoroughly.
When lumps are gone, beat in cocoa.
Fold in whipped topping, just until mixed, on low speed.
Fill crust, cover with plastic wrap and chill for 3 hours.
Sprinkle with extra cookie crumbs if desired.
