San Antonio Wings
5 pounds chicken wings (20 to 25)
1-1/2 cups mild picante sauce
1-1/2 cups ketchup
1 cup honey
1 teaspoon ground cumin
Sauce:
1 bottle (16 oz.) mild picante sauce
1 container (16 oz.) sour cream
Split the wings at each joint and discard tips; rinse then pat dry. Place wings in a shallow dish.
In a bowl, combine 1-1/2 cups picante sauce, ketchup, honey, and cumin; pour over wings. Cover and marinate wings in refrigerator for at least one hour.
Preheat oven to 350° F. Remove the wings from marinade and place on a cookie sheet; save marinade. Bake wings for 30 minutes. Brush wings with reserved marinade; turn and bake for 15 minutes more.
Preheat broiler and cook wings for 5 minutes more on each side.
In a bowl mix sauce ingredients and serve as dipping sauce for wings.
Good served warm or cold. Great for picnics.
