SAUERKRAUT RYE BREAD
1/4 C. plus 1 T. water
2 T. molasses
2 T. butter or margarine, softened
1 C. sauerkraut, well-drained and chopped
1 T. caraway seeds
2 T. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 C. rye flour
2 C. bread flour
2 1/4 tsp. active dry yeast
In bread machine, place all ingredients in order suggested by
manufacturer. Select basic bread setting and light bread color.
Bake according to machine directions, checking dough after
5 minutes. Add flour or water if needed. I see no reason why this
recipe couldn’t be baked in a regular oven.
