Sauerkraut Salad

2 pounds sauerkraut
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup diced celery
1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
1 cup sugar
4 tablespoons white vinegar

Drain the sauerkraut and place it in a bowl.
Add onion, celery, and green pepper.
Heat sugar and vinegar in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves. Pour the dressing over the sauerkraut. Stir thoroughly.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
