Self rising flour

I am in the bush in Alaska and cannot go to the store everyday. My friend went to the store for me , and instead of all purpse flour got a lot of self rising flour. Can I bake bread etc. using self rising flour? I tried in my bread machine and it did not rise properly even with a package of yeast. Please help with recipes for this flour.

Hey There

Raising Flour or Self-rising flour is an all-purpose flour to which baking powder has been added. About 1 1/4 teaspoons of baking powder and a pinch of salt have been added during milling for every cup of flour. It is especially suited for biscuits, muffins, cakes, and pastries. It is also available bleached or unbleached
