Sesame Pork Ribs

3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup honey
2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. salt
1/4-1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
5 pounds country-style pork ribs
1 medium onion, sliced
2 Tbsp. sesame seeds, toasted
2 Tbsp. chopped green onions
To thicken sauce: 2 Tbsp. corn starch and 1/4-1/2 cup water

In a large bowl, combine the first nine ingredients. Add ribs and coat. Place onion in a 5-qt. slow cooker; arrange ribs on top and pour sauce over all. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours. Place ribs on a serving platter and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Can thicken sauce by removing meat and adding 2 Tbsp. corn starch mixed with 1/4-1/2 cup water and cooking a further 20-30 min. on high. Serve sauce with ribs.
