makes: 6 dozen
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter
1-1/2 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup fruit cocktail, drained
1/2 cup walnuts
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or spray cookie sheets.
Sift flour, baking soda and salt together, set aside. Cream the butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg, vanilla, and fruit cocktail. Stir in the dry ingredients. Fold in the walnuts.
Drop batter by the spoonful on to cookies sheets about 2 inches apart.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown
