Slushies!

Something my family is loving on these hot days is home made slushies!
We have an ice crusher so that makes it nice, but I have a recipe for them if you don’t as well!

If you have an ice crusher:
1 3/4 c sugar
2 cup water
1 pkg kool aid- any flavor!

boil the sugar and water to a very hard boil. Turn off heat, add package of kool aid, stir. I transfer it to a glass jar, let it cool a bit, then put it in the fridge. After it chills, to the crushed ice, add some of the syrup to it - as much or as little as you like. Very good on a hot day!!

If you do NOT have an ice crusher, this is how I made them last year:

Frozen Slushies
2 gallon sized freezer bags
2 quarts Kool-aid drink, (any flavor)
2 c salt

Pour prepared kool-aid into 1st zipper bag. Seal tightly, make sure not leaking! Pour small amount of salt into 2nd freezer bag. Place kool-aid bag into the 2nd zipper bag. Pour remaining salt around the sealed kool aid bag. Seal 2nd bag tightly. Freeze for 3-5 hours. Pour into cups and enjoy a cold frozen slushie!
salt does not go into your drink at all! remember you need two bags, one for salt and one for kool aid!
*save salt for reuse for next time!
