sorry if i sound stupid

I’ve never used a crock pot and would like to know is it best to make a stew in a crock pot than a regular pot? whats the difference? as you can see I don’t cook that much haha. I’m more of a baker.

Bonjour!

First of all…you don’t sound stupid at all!! We were all once new to cooking so don’t feel bad…

When cooking in a Crockpot you must first ‘cook’ or brown your meat…then you can place all the rest of your ingredients into the pot. Crockpots cook evenly and provide all over heat…there is no need to worry about burning in a crockpot. You can leave the house and leave your crockpot on and cooking until you return in the evening…sometimes for stew you would have to thicken it towards the end of cooking…this you would do during the last hour in a crockpot.

I hope this helps you out…and good luck trying and using your crockpot, you will learn to love it.

Kind regards,

Kimmy

Never ever say your stupid as we all had to learn. You will love your crock pot and once you get use to using it you’ll find yourself using it all the time. I love mine. I never ever brown any meat before putting it into my crockpot and it cooks and browns all my meats. Beef stew, pot roast, pork roast, chicken, & etc. I never had a problem with the meats ever. Good luck & have fun with it.

Or going the other way:

It is better to not ask a question and look stupid, than to open mouth and remove all doubt!"
