Southern Slaw

3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon flour
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup sweet milk
1 cup vinegar
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon celery seed or celery salt
1 head of cabbage, shredded
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped

Mix well the sugar, salt, flour, eggs and milk
together and cook in a double boiler.
Slowly add vinegar as mixture cooks.
When dressing thickens, add butter and
celery seed. Remove from double boiler
and allow to cool.

Pour over shredded cabbage and chopped peppers.
