Last night I had:
- Shell Steak smothered in a brown gravy with onions
- Beef flavored rice pilaf
- Mixed vegatables
Brown Onion Gravy Recipe
1 1/2 qt. Beef Stock
1 tbsp. Freshly Ground Black Pepper
1 tsp. Garlic Powder
1 1/2 tsp. Worcheshire Sauce
1/4 tsp. Salt 2 tbsp. Beef Base
1/2 c. Vegetable Oil
1 1/4 c. Onion, Minced
1 1/2 tsp. Garlic, Minced
3/4 c. Flour
Put into stockpot: Beef Stock, Black Pepper, Garlic Powder, Worcheshire, Salt and Beef Base. Heat to 170 degrees.
In Sautee pan: Heat Oil on medium high and sautee Onion and Garlic until Onions are limp. Gradually whisk in Flour to mixture, making a roux.
Continue stirring until roux has turned light brown. Add roux mixture to stockpot, whisking in thoroughly. Continue whisking and cook until gravy is slightly thickened.
