Summertime Okra

3 cups sliced fresh okra
2 cups fresh cut corn from the cob
4 medium ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped
2 bay leaves
3 Tbsp.chopped fresh parsley
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 to 1/2 freshly ground pepper
1/2 tsp. gumbo file
1/8 ts. hot sauce (Tabasco) or to taste

Wash okra under running water, dry well and slice.Combine okra,and the next 6 ingredients in a large skillet, cover and simmer 10 minutes, uncover and simmer an additional 20 minutes/

Stir in gumbo file and hot sauce, cook stirring constantly, 1 minute. Remove the bay leaves before serving.
