Teaching Teens

I used to call home and say I was running a little late. Then I’d ask if they’d mind starting supper for me. I would have all the ingredients handy and tell them how to assemble over the phone. Then I’d stop for a cup of coffe or shop on the way home. The kids never wanted me to show them how to cook, but this worked very well. Now they are grown up and still call me for directions over the phone.

wow great idea! I think I need to do same thing with my kids.

Actually, you need to start long before they are teens, as young as toddler age. Learning to pick up their toys when finished is a good place to start.

It almost seems like you’re down-playing how well this tactic worked. I think a kudos is in order
