Tomatoes Pie

If you are a tomatoe lover, I promise you this is a great recipe. Everytime I take it to a social gathering, I am always asked for the recipe. Its also the most requested recipe I am asked to bring. It came from a family member who has made it for 30 years! If you try it, please submit a comment.

1 - 9 inch Deep Dish pre-baked or frozen Pie Shell
3 - med size tomatoes (skin on or skin off is your preference)
8 to 10 slices of bacon, fried very crisp or use Oscar Mayer Bacon bits
3 - 4 Green onions, chopped
1 Cup Hellmans mayonnaise (use only Hellmans)
1& 1/2 Cup shredded Cheddar cheese or 1 Cup shredded Cheddar & 1 cup Mozzarella cheese

Pre-bake frozen pie shell 1/2 of the time according to directions on package or until shell starts to turn brown.
Chop tomatoes into bite size pieces & drain thoroughly on a paper towel.
When Pie shell completely cools, place tomato pieces into it & season with salt & pepper.
In a medium size bowl, well combine mayonnaise, cheese(s) and green onion. If desired, you may also mix in some of the bacon bits.
Spread mixture over the tomatoe pieces evenly & top with more bacon bits.
Bake in pre-heated oven at 350% for 25 to 35 minutes, just enough time for cheeses to melt & pie gets well heated through out
