Turkey Italian Sausage with Red Sauce

2 tablespoons olive oil – divided
1 1-pound package Butterball® Lean Fresh Turkey Hot Italian Sausage
1 large onion – chopped
1/2 pound mushrooms – sliced
1/2 green bell pepper – chopped
1 clove garlic – minced
1/4 cup chicken broth or dry white wine
1 15-ounce can tomato sauce
1 14-1/2 ounce can stewed tomatoes – drained
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Hot cooked pasta

Heat 1 tablespoon of the oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add turkey sausage and brown 8 to 10 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove from skillet; set aside. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil and onion to skillet; cook over medium-low heat 5 minutes. Then add mushrooms, pepper and garlic; cook 5 minutes more. Pour in broth and cook over medium-high heat about 2 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes tomato paste and Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil. Return sausage to skillet. Cover and simmer over low heat 15 minutes. Serve with hot pasta.

Makes 4 servings, 4-1/2 cups sauce.
