Turnips Au Gratin

6 to 8 large turnips, sliced
Olive oil
4 large onions, sliced
2 cups dry white wine
4 eggs, beaten
Salt
2 tsp. hot sauce
3 c. Swiss or Cheddar cheese, grated (or a mixture of both)

Directions: Grease casserole with oil. Layer onions, turnips, and cheese in dish. Beat eggs, adding wine, some salt to taste, and hot sauce. Pour over layers. Add more sliced cheese or bread crumbs to top. Bake, covered, 1 to 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees, or til turnips are tender.
