Vanilla bean equals..................

Does anyone know what one vanilla bean equals in terms of vanilla extract? For example, does one bean equal one teaspoon of extract?

I am trying to make the Grand Marnier recipe and it calls for one bean but I figure the price of the beans is a little too expensive.

Any help will be appreciated.

One inch of vanilla bean = 1 teaspoon extract

I hope so. If that’s the case one bean should equal about 4-5 teaspoons. Thanks. A J
