Many years ago (the sixties) Dan Dee had a new potato chip flavor - Garlic and Green Onion - and they were the best ever! I probably was the only person that liked them because they weren’t out very long! LOL
So - along with my milkshake cravings - I decided to make my own:
I thinly sliced taters (scrubbing and leaving skins on), and deep fried at 375* until done; combined onion powder, garlic salt, pepper and parsley - and tossed chips in mixture. The next time I have the dehydrator going I’m going to dry green onion slices to pulverize so that I can have the green onion flavor.
And they didn’t have that aftertaste like Lay’s since they switched to sunflower oil!
