My husband I went to Chicago for the first time last year and went to Portillo’s. We went back twice it was so good. The Chicago hotdog was wonderful and so was everything else. Thanks for mentioning them.
San Francisco’s, Fisherman’s Wharf…hands down!!! 8) 8)
I just do not understand why Atlanta is always over looked for its 4 star cuisine.
Some of the most incredable food i have had has neen in Atlanta. And there is so many different themes, you can never eat at them all.
My husband, children and I have been to many cities around the world and have eaten at many restaurants, but our favorite place to eat is right here where we live, in Kuwait. There are so many cultures living here and the choices of authentic restaurants are endless. Our favorite is Mughal Mahal, which offers authentic Indian cuisine (make sure you ask for your entrees with mild spices unless you want your mouth to be on fire). Their biryani (pronounced ‘bear-ee-awn-ee’) and butter chicken are the best! We also like to eat at Al Ghanim, which offers mostly Lebanese cuisine. We like the mixed grill (grilled kabobs, chicken and meat pieces) with a side of hummus (blended chick pea dip), fatoosh (an Arabic salad) and yogurt with cucumber. Fresh pita bread (Arabic bread) is a must! I had never eaten these types of foods until I moved to Kuwait 12 years ago. Now, I can’t get enough of them! I even miss these foods when I travel back home to visit my family in West Virginia.
The best steak house in the world is in Lancaster, Pennsylvavia. It is called Texas Roadhouse Steak House. They started out with rolls with a special blend of butter and honey that was fantastic and then the most tender, best tasting steak I have ever eaten.
Hi, well for me would be very hard to choose what food I think is the best. My
mothers cooking is the best, she lives in Europe, and I grew up there, so from french, italian, spanish, german maroccan, greek, irish etc, etc.
I have tried all of them and always comesback to mom. She cooks with a mix of, french and spanish, Vasque and Catalan. And I love every dish.
Now I have my own family here in USA and is hard for me to find the ingridients needed to make this greattt!!! food. So I have to improvise and do my best.
From around here the best is a little restourant in Mexico past the border in San Diego, the town’s name is Rosarita, and their deep fry lobsters are to dye
for.
If any of you want any european recipes, feel free to e-mail me

Please share your experience and any recipes you may have.
Feel free to also talk about your favorite restaurant and your favorite food from that restaurant.
Hello to everyone from over here on the East coast, Living in a city that is a drinking town with a sailing problem. I have eaten at almost every food joint in town(I love Food) And I had stumbled upon a restarunt that looked like an old historic home. My interest went to the food of course and its family owned homemade dishes. The Old Stein INN. Located just outside Annapolis,MD in Edgewater. Wonderful atmospher great people and MOUTH WATERING CRAVING FOOD. all German style beer’s even an outside bier garden. Its an experience you will never forget. As a matter of fact it was on the food network on the show FOOD FINDS. Hope to see you here soon.[/i][/b]
I can honestly say that the best food ive had is in Dallas texas at the Intercontinal Hotel. I cant remember the name of the resturant but my husband had quail and I,m just a steak person but they had one of the best and talk about classy in service. the invroment makes the food taste better I think.
My all time favorite is saltgrass steakhouse, yes it’s normal everyday food not like Paris or the unique places in the world but it is the best. :!:
The best place I have found in Southern California for GREAT southern cooking is a place called “Tylers Taste of Texas”. The chicken fried steak alone fed me for full days!!!
Perhaps it was because of the time and place that I have such fond memories of this meal. My father, who was an officer in the US Army, was enroute to San Francisco from Fort Benning, GA, to ultimately join General Douglas MacArthur in the Philippines. He had 30 days leave so we took a leisurely trip back to the west coast. On VJ Day, when the Japanese surrendered to the US, we had just arrived in New Orleans. Oh, what a celebration! I was photographed by a Life Magazine photographer running through ticker tape outside our hotel! We had dinner reservations at Antoine’s, very famous then and now. Shortly after we arrived at the restaurant, the doors were closed and the celebration began. Free champagne and dinners for all. I got a Coke since I was only nine years old!. I remember that we had roast leg of lamb, potatoes, and baby green peas with something very chocolate for dessert. I will never forget that meal and I still have the small American flag I was given by the staff.
For great Chinese food, try P.F. Chang’s. It’s a chain. We’re stuck on it. Definitely get the chicken lettuce wraps, the shrimp fried rice and the Chang’s spare ribs.
Several years ago I went to the Inn At Turner’s Mill near Akron Ohio with some work colleagues. We were given a butter knife to cut the steak. It was all that was needed as the meat was superb.
One of my more memorable dining experiences.

If I may add my two cents’ worth, I must say that Italian is my favorite cuisine. The Italians really know how to use herbs and spices to bring out the best flavors. I like Olive Garden, though many good Italian restaurants abound, especially in big cities. In Portland, Oregon is a very good spaghetti restaurant, called The Old Spaghetti Factory. I believe that Seattle, Washington has one, too, so if you are in either of these cities you will need to stop there.
Hi, I am from India, the countary of culture and variety of foods. In India I live in a small town called mussoorie, it is next to the mighty himaliyas
so in a season time many peoples around the world come over here, I find the two best restaurants in my city which are famous for their Indian cusine,by proffesion I am also a chef ,but love the mutton rogan josh(Lamb in thick onion and youghart gravy) in The Tavern Restaurant which is in the heart of the mall, second is four seasons restaurant which is famous for there butter chicken. If you visit India, dont forget to visit mussoorie ,you will really like the place. Love Rajiv
I agree. Sure wish we could get their recipie for Italian Beef Sandwhich, any one out there have a recipe.
while most areas have some good food as san fran and most port towns has great seafood but the two citys that shine overall are new orleans and new york city who both have a wide array of great dinning styles
the best ribs in my book has been won out by a new rib place in new orlens called Zydeque as they make great ribs with just dry rubs so there not just smothered in bbq sause
I have travelled in the US quite a bit, and have been to the Caribbean and Canada, and Hawaii. In Hawaii, every time I ate I felt lighter and healthier - the way they prepare food over there is wonderful, and all the fresh fruits and vegetables in every dish really boost your energy level.
Around home, my husband and I love to eat at the Macaroni Grill Italian restaurant. They have the best bread - it is SO good. It is a loaf of herb bread with oil and garlic on top. (There’s a recipe I would love to have!!!) The service is great, the atmosphere is relaxing and dim, and whatever we order always tastes great. I usually order raspberry-lemonade to drink (fresh lemonade with a raspberry syrup mixed in).
My favorite dish there is the Chicken Alfredo.
Hello:
I’m new to all this, but, I would have to say my favorite place to eat is San Francisco, CA. I live in Southern California, Orange County, and I have traveled extensively, but my favorite place to eat is Ruth’s Chris Steak House in San Francisco. I’m not much of a beef eater, but their filet mignon is to die for. So, if you are ever in San Francisco, you have to try Ruth’s Chris Steak House. They raise their own beef, or so i’m told. Actually, I do believe it, though, the steak is so tender you can cut it with a fork. And their salad, and baked potato, makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Anyway, thought you’d like to know.
