Apple-Bacon Quiches

Ingredients:

1 pkg. frozen pastry tart shells
5 eggs
1 tbls. butter
1 C diced Canadian bacon
2 C thinly sliced, unpeeled Red Delicious or Granny Smith apples
1 tbls. flour
1 3/4 C half & half
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. caraway seeds
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 C shredded Swiss cheese

Directions:

Prepare tart shells. Pierce all over with fork tines. Separate 1 egg; beat egg white lightly and brush bottom and sides of tart shells. Bake below center of oven at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.

Melt butter and saute bacon 1 minute. Add apple slices. Cover and cook about 10 minutes, until apples are almost transparent. Beat remaining whole eggs with the remaining egg yolk. Add flour, half & half, salt, nutmeg, caraway seeds and dry mustard; mix well. Sprinkle the cheese evenly among the tart shells topping egg mixture in each shell. Bake at 375 degrees about 30 minutes, or until set in center. Cool to lukewarm before serving. These little things are really delicious! Enjoy!

My mouth still watering. Because i love to eat yolk. As per you cooking method, I think that it would be hard to bake this recipe at home as own.

I am a little confused…why would this be hard to bake at home???
Unless you don’t have an oven???

I make all kinds of Quiche, all the time, and have made this recipe too…I love Quiche. I like this one best with the Granny Smith apples.
For a bit of a sweeter taste I use Fuji apples and honey smoked bacon (fry and crumble the bacon).
