Apple Butter
1 (50-ounce) jar applesauce
1 cup brown sugar, heaped
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 ounces cinnamon red hot candies
With a wire whisk, mix applesauce, brown sugar, cinnamon, and red
hots. Pour into a large baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 7 hours, stirring occasionally.
Remove from oven and stir well. Serve with biscuits, if desired.
It’s also delicious spread on toast or English muffins.
