Apple Cranberry Cookies

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup thick unsweetened applesauce
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until well-mixed. Add egg and applesauce. Beat until blended. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Beat well. By hand, stir in cranberries and nuts.

Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until very lightly browned.
