Apple Pie

Ingredients:

8 tart apples, peeled and sliced
1 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
3/4 cup milk
2 Tbsp butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose baking mix, divided
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 Tbsp cold butter

Directions:

Lightly grease a slow cooker. In a large bowl, toss the apples, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Place the apple mixture in slow cooker.

In another bowl, combine the milk, softened butter, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla and 1/2 cup of the all-purpose baking mix. Pour over apples.

In another bowl, combine the remaining baking mix and the brown sugar. Using a pastry blender or 2 forks, cut the cold butter into the mixture until it is crumbly. Sprinkle the mixture on top of the apples.

Cover, and cook on low setting for 6 to 7 hours. Makes 6 to 8 servings
