Authentic Turkish Chicken Shish Kebab
Does any one have a recipe for authentic Turkish Chicken Shish kebab marinade like you get in the kebab shop. I have tried a couple of the net but they are not the same. Seems to be hard to pin the actual recipe down.

Best one I have found thats similar to my local kebab shop as follows:
Fresh lemon juice
Garlic
Cayenne
Cumin
Extra virgin olive oil
Pinch salt, pepper and Oregano
Marinade chicken breast for 1-4 Hours.

I would use boneless chicken thighs in place of the breasts. They have much more flvor and don’t dry out as easily.
Awesome! I was actually looking for a recipe for Turkish kabobs for a cookout with friends just a few days ago. Wish I’d seen this then. I’ll have to print it out and try it this weekend.
I’m marinating some chicken breasts from Kitchen Witch right now. Will let you know how they come out.
Using this recipe:
4-6 chicken breasts
1 cup plain yogurt
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or 1 tablespoon ground cumin [opted for cumin]
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (to taste)
4 garlic cloves, minced [eeeek,almost forgot the garlic!]
1 lemon, juice of
6 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper [almost forgot this, too, sheesh!]
1/2 cup grated onion
Combine all ingredients in a non-reactive bowl.
Add chicken, cover & refrigerate 6 hours or overnight.
Grill, broil or bake chicken as desired.
