Beef Stroganoff

1 lb beef - cubed into 1/2 inch pieces
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tbsp flour

Season beef with all of the above dry ingredients.


1/2 to 3/4 cup mushroom - sliced
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 cup beef broth or milk
1/4 medium onion
2 cloves garlic
1/4 tsp allspice powder (may use nutmeg to substitute)
1/4 cup sour cream or yogurt
salt and pepper


  1. Fry onion and garlic in oil and butter until slightly browned
  2. Add seasoned beef and fry until cooked.
  3. Add sliced mushrooms and fry until mushrooms are limp
  4. Add milk and let simmer until gravy thicken slightly.
  5. Add allspice powder.
  6. Add sour cream and wisk to stir in.
  7. Add parsley and salt/pepper to taste.
  8. Serve over cooked egg noodles.
  9. May garnish with crushed peppers and parsley if desired.
