BISCUIT MIX (like Bisquick)
8 C. flour
1/3 C. baking powder
1 C. shortening
2 tsp. salt
8 tsp. sugar
Sift dry ingredients together twice. With a pastry blender or two
knives, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
Store in airtight container. This will keep for some time on the shelf,
or for months in the fridge.
For hot biscuits, add 1/3 cup milk for each cup of biscuit mix. Works
as well as any purchased mix.
