Cherry Squares

2 - cups of softened margrine
2 - cups sugar
3 - eggs
1 tsp - vanilla
1 tsp - almond extract
3- cups of flour
1 1/2 - cherry pie filling (cans)

1.) beat sugar and margrine
2.) add eggs and vanilla and almond
3.) add flour

in a jelly roll pan (or a cookie sheet with sides)
spread 2/3 of batter. palce pie filling evenly
over the top of batter, and dot the remaining
batter over top. bake at 350* untill golden
brown. take out of oven and let completly
cool. make a glaze of hot water, confectionary
sugar and almond extract to taste. drizzle
over top. ( they are also good warm with no
glaze and just vanilla ice cream)
