Chick-fil-A® Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce

Chick-fil-A® Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce

Step two calls for corn starch, but C.S. along with how much to add is not listed among the ingredients. Has anyone tried to make this, and is it close at all?

T. Marzetti, Chick-Fil-A’s distributor for this sauce, supposedly has it for sale under a different name in the supermarket. According to C.F.A. that is. They won’t sell me a case of the packets.

 Hey guys I found an easier way. Just buy some salad dressing “” french “” and some hickory smoke flavoring and play around a bit with the measurements by tasting and BAM, you got a pretty good fake Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce!

That’s great information to have. I went to T. Marzetti’s website, and I narrowed the choices down to two, based on color, and the fact that the user above me mentioned an easy version with French Dressing. Here are the exact names of the PROBABLE T.Marzetti products that are in fact the Honey BBQ Chick-fil-a sauce: Honey French or Country French. I’m leaning towards the Honey French myself. There are no other products listed on their website remotely similar to the Honey BBQ sauce. Now, if only that flavor was available in the stores around here!

I have long loved Chick-fil-A’s Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce. I have made my own that tastes almost exactly like it by combining ketchup, yellow mustard, mayonnaise, honey, liquid smoke and salt and pepper. I will make a batch now that I have the recipe. Thanks.

Just tried the Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce for the first time tonight and  WOWZERS  was it good!!! So, in my quest to find a recipe for this [ sauce, I came across this forum.

I, too, visited the Marzetti website and in my opinion, the Light Ancho Chipotle Ranch seemed like a much closer match to Chick-fil-A’s BBQ sauce (mainly because of color and the fact it has a smoky flavor), although still not the same, especially because of the apparent spiciness.

Also, I came across this little tidbit of information on Chick-fil-A’s website, in their FAQs section:

Q: Does Chick-fil-A sell bottled Barbecue Sauce?

A: No. However, we serve an eight-ounce cup of sauce with Chick-fil-A Tray orders. If you would like to purchase an eight-ounce serving, you may request it at your local Chick-fil-A Restaurant

(Click ‘Products’ under Frequently Asked Questions)

Don’t know how accurate this is (from a week ago), but someone posted on ‘Yahoo! Answers’ that an 8 oz. container costs $1.75. Not too bad if you’re unable to replicate or find it being sold under another name.

Funny thing about Chick-fil-A, from my experience the bbq sauce is the only thing good from their fast food chain. Besides they are not open Sundays, because they say its a family day…like they dont take their family out to eat on Sundays? Oh, whatever, but i found their broiled chicken sandwich a huge dissappointment. It was luke warm and unacceptably salty, that I had to ask for a nutrition chart, and yep, it was loaded with sodium. Where did I get this idea that this fast food restaurant was good? I was not impressed. They can keep their chicken, I just want the bbq sauce…THANKS for the recipe above, I will try it, as it sounds like the ingredients they list in their bbq sauce packet. And one more thing about this sauce, they treat the packets like gold, kept hidden under their counter. And you must ask for it. When you ask for a extra packet, they look at you like you are asking for them to give you money. I dont have time for this restaurant, and its not as good as the lines of people there make it appear. I dont think they have any fresh fruit either. Maybe a wheat bun, maybe not, i forget. But most all the chains have wheat buns now a days. I dont think they had any fresh fruit either. Fresh fruit needs to be more than an apple or banana.

Is it not dangerous to eat raw egg yolks?

Hey… I just figured out a MUCH easier way to make it. I didn’t take exact measurements but the ingredients are:

[ul]
[li]Marzetti brand Honey Dijon Dressing (The brand is very important for this, and I found it in the produce section by the bagged salads)
[/li][li]Ketchup
[/li][li]Liquid Hickory Smoke Flavoring
[/li][/ul]

The ratio is ABOUT 10:2:1, or maybe less ketchup and smoke flavor, but just add a little of each till it tastes right, as that is what I did instead of measuring. It tastes and looks exactly the same and there’s no raw egg in it. Keep it refrigerated because of the dressing though.

This honey roasted bar-b-que sauce at Chick fil a has been driving me crazy. I’ve been trying to clone this recipe for a while so I hit the Internet and I’m so glad I did. I came here and registered and you guys are the BOMB !! There was some great ideas on here that I tried and they were all close but StacyB26’s recipe was “spot on”. Thank you very much Stacy, you nailed it. I also made some with just the Marzetti honey Dijon Dressing and the liquid hickory smoke at a 10/1 ratio and I think it might have been a little closer without the ketchup but you for sure nailed the ingredients. Thanks again. No more begging for blister packs for me !!! :o)

Just found this thread! I haven’t yet attempted to replicate this auce yet myself…but…I thought that I had identified cloves as being an ingredient? Anyone else?
