Chili Torte

Chili Torte

preheat oven to 350*

My sister who loves mexican food
as much as I do and has 3 kids came
up with this recipe and after sharing it
with me it became a fave dish at my
table. I named it Chili Torte because
of the layers.

In a Lg kettle place

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 large yellow onion chopped

Cook burger and onion until
buger is brown all the way thru
and onion is soft.

Add:
1 lg can refried beans
1 can of your favorite chili
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 med jar tomatillo sauce
or salsa
1 can chopped green chilies
1/2 tsp ground cumin

Stir all the above together
and simmer for 15 mins.
Turn off stove.

In an ungreased round casserole dish,
layer flor tortillas, chili and grated cheese.
(you can great your own or use packaged greated cheese)

Lay tortilla on bottom of dish, then cover with chili
then sprinkle grated chedder cheese on top. Lay
another tortilla on top, cover with chili and cheese.
Continue layering till casserole is full ending with
chili and a lot of cheese on top. Heat thru in oven
for 15-20 mins or until cheese on top is all melted.

Enjoy!
