Chinese Ground Beef Casserole

1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons shortening
2 onions – chopped
1 cup chopped celery
1 can mushroom soup, condensed
1 can cream of celery soup, condensed
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup rice – uncooked
1 can chow mein noodles

Brown meat in shortening until slightly brown and crumbly. Add onions, celery, soups, water, rice and soy sauce.

Pour into greased casserole. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes; uncover and bake another 30 minutes.

Sprinkle 1 can of chow mein noodles on top and bake 15 minutes more.
