Chocolate Macadamia Bars
2 cups (12 oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 cup chopped macadamia nuts
1 tsp. vanilla (divided)
1 cup butter
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 egg
3 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Combine baking chips, cream cheese and milk in large, heavy saucepan. Stir over low heat, until the chips are melted. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 tsp. vanilla and nuts. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl, beat in egg and remaining 1/2 tsp, vanilla. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Blend well. Press half of the mixture in bottom of lightly greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Spread chocolate mixture over the top and sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over chocolate. Bake at 375ยบ for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown. Cool and cut into bars.
